Everything Krea 2 can do

Krea 2 is Krea's image model for stylized pictures, in three versions: Medium, steady from run to run and at home in drawn and painted styles; Medium Turbo, faster and half the price of Medium, for rough ideas; and Large, which costs twice as much as Medium and keeps more grain and texture. It only makes new pictures and doesn't edit one. It reads up to ten pictures, for their style alone, and makes images in eight shapes of about one megapixel, from 1568 × 672 wide to 768 × 1376 tall.

Every picture below was made by the step under it. Change a placeholder and press Gen to make your own.

One picture sets the look

Give a step a picture and it takes the picture's palette, texture and line, then draws whatever the prompt names. The plate here is a linocut still life. The series prompt names only the subject: the red ink and the carved lines come from the plate, and the pears stay behind.

Drop in any picture as the style to restyle the whole series. A step that reads a picture costs a little more, the same for one picture or several.

Keep the style and the subject and change only the size: a wide banner and a tall phone story come out as one set with the picture above.

Two pictures, one look

A step can read up to ten pictures and blends their looks. This one reads the linocut and the cyanotype from the plate, for the same subjects as the series. Two that agree blend cleanly; two that pull apart come out muddled, so start with one and add a second once you've seen what the first does.

Say how it's made

Without a picture, name the style by how it's made: the medium, the colors, the surface. The kite scene is the same words in all four; only the last sentence changes.

The style placeholder takes a picture too: put one in place of the words and it becomes the style.

How far it goes

Creativity sets how far the model goes past your words. At raw it draws what you wrote and nothing more; at high it adds its own light, color and mood. Medium is the default. Raw suits a picture that must hold exactly what you asked for; high suits a search for ideas. A short prompt, at raw, medium and high:

The same three levels on a long prompt, where every detail is already named:

For a stack of rough ideas, use Medium Turbo: it runs faster, costs half as much as Medium, and takes prompts up to 3,000 characters. A few words at high creativity give a different take every time; set Files per run to 4 for four at once, each billed as one picture.

Large keeps the grain

Large is the bigger version, with less polish trained in. It keeps what Medium tends to smooth away: film grain, motion blur, flat low-contrast light. It costs twice as much as Medium. The same words on both, Medium first, then Large.

A photograph works as a style picture too. Its grade, grain and color come along; its pool and its palms don't.

Name the flaws

Left alone, a model sands off the small faults that make a photograph look real. Put them back by name: the chip, the crack, the stain, the stubble, the scar. Large keeps them sharp up close.
